The Countdown had the honor of winning Best Series pilot and Best Empowerment of Women in Film!

I cannot begin to say how grateful I am to have been a part of this spectacular and moving show. Every single Veteran who participated in this event and program is exceptional. I was laughing and crying everyday from rehearsal to performance. I learned so much about myself, storytelling and the human experience. It was a gift to be able to put words to my experiences as Miss USO and share my heart and passion for the people I had and have the honor to continue to support and serve however I can. Thank you to Brian Allman, BJ Lange, Sean Michael Boozer, and Rebecca Hsia for your fearless leadership and steering of this massive ship. I will forever be honored and grateful.

I am still pinching myself!!!! I am so honored to have gotten to spend this year as part of the Disney General Entertainment Writing Fellowship!!!! I have been so grateful to grow and learn from the truly phenomenal CTDI team. Every member of my cohort is incredibly gifted and skilled and Liz is a legitimate super hero. This was a life changing experience and I am immensely grateful to have been a part of this beautiful program.

What an incredible honor it was to perform the National Anthem at the Rose Bowl on the Fourth of July! It was the highest attended Major League Soccer game in history! Over 90,ooo fans packed the stadium to see the long awaited battle on the field between LA GALAXY and LAFC!!! It was all made more special by getting to share the field with the Color Guard from the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. The LA Galaxy staff are top notch and made every single moment special. Sunshine is a character that will stay with me forever. There were so many pieces of my real life that were weaved into her from foster care to homelessness. She was a strong, complicated and beautiful character that I will always be grateful I got to inhabit. I hope to see it one day soon on the big screen.

We are in the throes of post on this absolute labor of love and already making the first festival push! It was such a joy getting to write this story with the incredible Shannon McLemore, let alone make it!
